Hezbollah condemns slogans against Prime Minister Nawaf Salam

Hezbollah condemned slogans chanted against Prime Minister Nawaf Salam at Sports City Stadium, calling them unacceptable and harmful to national unity. The group urged Lebanese citizens to avoid divisive rhetoric. The stadium reopened after a long closure for maintenance.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Hezbollah issued a statement on Friday condemning the slogans chanted at Sports City Stadium against Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.

The statement emphasized that such chants, which also included accusations against Salam, are unacceptable. Hezbollah argued that they contradict national interests and sports ethics, failing to contribute to Lebanon’s efforts in strengthening unity and stability.

The group urged all Lebanese citizens to exercise the highest level of national responsibility. It warned against engaging in provocative and offensive slogans, which could lead to further division and tension, particularly at a time when Israeli attacks on Lebanon continue.

Salam had attended a ceremony at Sports City Stadium, which was sponsored by President Joseph Aoun and House Speaker Nabih Berri. The event marked the reopening of the stadium after an extended period of closure for maintenance.
